I have a WASR-10 that I picked up for a good price and the stock was way too short for me so I put an AR type collapsable stock and it is much better. It does have some mag wobble but it fires everytime and is pretty accurate for an AK type weapon but the quality is not the best around. Of course I knew that getting into it. So if you want a cheap shooter, have at it!

I have a Century built Yugo under folder and really like even though I didn't notice the rear sight was canted when I bought it. I had to move the front sight to the left about 1/8 inch to hit a target at 50 feet. It good for fun shooting at the range. I'm saving a better built AK.

Anyone interested in a fix for the mag wobble, let me know. Will cost you next to nothing, if you know someone with a welder. I'll pass on information to anyone who want's it.

Well pass it on. You should probably start your own thread though instead of dragging ones from 3 years ago back up. BTW my WASR is dead on accurate and reliable. My only complaint is the wobble, but the tapcos dont wobble so I use them and save the metal ones for the RPK.

I have an AK47 from Inter Ordnance. bought her brand new, the rear sight was bent but that was an easy fix. They actually sent me out a whole rear sight block with all the parts, sight, leaf spring ect... just in case. So now i have a spare for FREE. There customer service is great also, also called about the dust cover being too short and they sent me a replacement, again free. i modified mine a bit, cut the barrel down, re-crowned it and spot welded a 5 1/2 inch flash hider to keep it legal. Knocked the front sight off and used a gas block front sight. Also have a Tech sight rear sight, replaces the recoil spring lock part at the back of the reciever and the dust cover, b/c it mounts to where the recoil spring would lock in it has ZERO wobble and works great. Added a DPMS folding stock with Ace folding mechanism (had to cut the rear tang off for this) i love my 47 probably the most out of everything. I also recently purchased a Polish Tantal in 5.45 and it's a Century. I had rust in the barrel as well and i used break free and cleaned the living @%#! out of her...looks brand new, the bore as well. Haven't got a chance to take her shooting yet but i'm going this weekend to Wicens in Jamison along with a Century FAL and a Stag AR-15 20" barrel left handed I just purchased. Still waiting for the FAL and Stag to get here....EXTREMLY excited to shoot these 3 rifles. But hey if your close by your more than welcome to stop by and i could bring the 47 for you to check out and the others as well, the 5.45 cal. is one of my favorites also, light and almost same damage as the 5.56. At that price for an AK tho, as long as she's good to go for double stack mags is a STEAL and overall if you don't mind working on your firearms and know what you are doing then you will not regret it IMO.

The fix is simple, getting the mag catch back in is the trick. With a punch and hammer remove the rivet/pin that holds the catch in. Watch where the spring lands, you'll need that. Add a bead of weld to the end of the mag catch(where it meets the mag) clean up the weld with a sander, square off the end. Using a punch about the same size as the pin, dry fit the mag catch. Remove material form the end of the mag catch, little at a time unless you want the welding practice. As the fit gets closer to where the mag will lock in place start using the real pin. Using a hammer tap one end of the pin on the anvil side of a large vice. This will elongate the pins allowing you to use it again, only do this to one side. If you have a pair of needle nose vice grips you dont mind modifying, otherwise borrow one from your neighbor. On the contact surfaces of the NN vice grips cut a groove into one, about the diameter of the spring ends.

Once the mag catch fits your mag and your happy with it. Put a punch in your vice with the end out to one side. put the spring and mag catch on the punch. Remember, the shorter side of the mag catch spring goes towards where the mag contacts the mag catch. Using your modified NN vice grips with one side of the pliers compressing the srping and the other on the outside of the mag catch. With the pliers locked in place install it to you rifle, install the pin and peen over.

PM me with questions as I am extremly tired. Have fun!

Not sure it's any consolation, but they usually go on sale every few weeks for $379.
