Thank you. Yes, the design of this sight really fits the rifle. And it is accurate for me.

I used an A-17 type 50 ft. rifle target for some of the fun. The black part of the bulls eyes on these is 1.5'' in diameter and has evenly spaced rings 6-10 inside. On one of them I scored 46/50. I can't shoot that good consistently yet, but at least I have proof for myself that this rifle can be shot that accurate by me in its current setup. So it is all my fault from here.

If I could pull this off every single time, this would be a sure squirrel head shot at 50 ft.

I know they aren't quite as accurate as some of the bolt .22s, but these guns are fun as hell to shoot. Count yourself lucky to find a used one, they don't crop up often. This is a rifle you can give to your grandchildren, and they can teach their kids with it.

It looks like the type of wood to expect as the dashboard of an expensive, British luxury car. Black Walnut is classic, but I think they also used woods like cherry, at least in veneer.

About range report, as said, I was able to shoot 46 out of 50 on a 50 Ft. NRA small bore rifle target. Not stellar, but OK for my skill level.

I'll try to get to the range again this week. My stepson is bugging me because he mounted a bi-pod on his Savage and didn't have a chance to test that yet. He was at BSA summer camp last week and didn't even waste any time going to the rifle range there because he thought it won't improve shooting his own rifle anyway. I guess I can stop worrying about some things.
