Why not get a Saiga in 7.62x39 if your worried about ammo ???

I had a Saiga in .308, really nice, shoot well ect...I also did the conversion myself, first time ever doing anything like that to a firearm...turned out beautiful ! I hooked it up nicely and then sold if to purchase a FAL .308. Nothing wrong with the Saiga in .308 or 5.56 just would prefer it in 7.62x39, like a real AK ya know.

I have been stocking up on ammo lately and also contemplating my next buy....I either want a Yugo underfolder or a Saiga...if I choose the Saiga I'm still not sure if I should get it in 5.45 or 7.62 though and I already have an AK in both calibers so I would just need to bulk up on that ammo a little extra.

Of the 2 you are looking to buy I say go with the Saiga in 7.62x39 and do the conversion...it's easy and cheap and gives you a brand new Izmash AK47.
When ALL else fails...the AK won't !! Emotions...??? emotions are for people who CARE !!!

The sights take some getting used to. Sight the thing in properly and bench it before you blame the gun.

(Not overtly saying you are) But these rifles aren't exactly known for their ease of shooting accurate groupings, and the sights take some getting used to at distances.

You might also find other ammo that it prefers to the stuff you are feeding it right now.

I have a Romanian gun that shoots pretty well actually.

I set a 2 liter up and actually shot the cap off of it at about 40yds, off hand. The cap, on the first try. And yes, I have witnesses thankfully. lol!

They aren't bad guns. Try different ammo, and more trigger time. If you still don't like it, life is short. Sell it and get something you like more.

I would work on your target practice, you should be good-to-go even up to 100 yards with a WASR.

If you needed a SHTF rifle, the WASR is going to lay down good suppressive fire in a hurry. A paratrooper SKS is a cool collector's piece, but in a bad situation you'll be going "click click" as a mob of looters rushes your house.
