Not labeling you as a trouble maker. Take it as you wish. My opinion was that you may have been the worker there who has received some bad press here for harassing a customer and his wife by breathing down their back when they were shooting. I took your post as if you were a worker plugging the place and if you are good and if you are not good also. It was not behind your back as you read everything from your monitor and that is in front of your face.

Again,
Happy Halloween.

F that. Never going to deal with those Nazis. Maybe some of you can get some good shooting in there, good. Maybe I am spoiled, but I shoot at safe ranges, I am safe, they know me, and I never get any crap. No RO is breathing down my neck and telling me how to operate my firearm. I pay you, my guns stay pointed downrange, and my bullets hit the paper. Other than that, I carry hot.

hey i resemble that remark!

i may work there but im not one of the asshats. besides, when im not working and go there to shoot, im responsible for making the biggest mess of the targets or knock em all down on purpose.

again, take the range for what it is. during the week, when its slow, some of the guys will sit back and watch, and some can be dicks and be up your ass.

as far as being a private member, i would never recommend going there on a weekend. thats when i work, and it truly is for the asshats from NY/NJ that have never shot, and honestly some of the scare the shit out of me with the way they handle firearms with me standing there, and telling them exactly what to do and what not to do. i only let them shoot what i feel like i could control if they get out of hand. i never want them to out do their skills, or lack of, right off the bat. in my eyes, they have to earn the guns they try. i want just give them anything they ask for.

Well first off let's drop the attitude a tad shall we? You are talking about some respected members here and secondly some friends of mine and others.

You first post did in fact look like 'spam' from someone trying to pump up the business ... that (and only that) is why some members came off the way they did and many have since apologized.

As far as a private range up here in Monroe, it has been the talk of a million and one threads and there really is no good answer. Many of the local private clubs have closed memberships because they are too full while others just don't want new members because of the growth in the population of NY / NJ asshats. So sorry to tell you there's no good answer to your question, if you are able to answer it there's a plethora of other members here that want to know.

Well I can't apologize for getting smart, certain members came after me assuming I was a shill for this place looking to start a fight. Since your friends of these people I don't expect you to see that. I had a good experience and shared some information for people needing a decent place to shoot (Including details on pricing). I lived up here for under 5 years and work in a total unrelated field, and I just bought my first rifle.

In fact one of your friendly friends gave me some negative rep because my opinions didn't align with his.
Well personally I think the neg rep MIGHT have been a tad over the line but it's their prerogative .... it's a free world you know?

Anyways, off the argument stuff. Hope you stick around. Some times first impressions are all they should be and sometimes people get overly sensitive with newbies (and visa versa) ... you have to understand that since PAFOA has been in the news so much (and not for good things) we have been overrun with new people, some with not so nice intentions.

If you hang around a while and interact you will see the place is full of great people, great information and a whole lot of fun. Yes we get in some MAJOR heated arguments, scream and yell at each other on a weekly basis but when the 'chips are down' this place comes together better than ANY group I have ever seen in my life.

Anyways, welcome.

It's a free world yes, but bad rep should work both ways.

Thank you, and I apologize for snapping at you and the few other members that apologized to me but I don't care for people being rude to me for no good reason. I didn't come here to cause problems, I just wanted to get some information and share some in return. If I knew posting a review about this place was such a sensitive topic I would have not posted it. Anyway I appreciate the welcome and hope things work out.

This is cyberspace. Lot`s of cyber experts. Ignore it, that neg rep means zippo. It won`t cost you a promotion or a raise. It may just mean you think for yourself.
I`ve only been to sunset about 3 times. There was no charge back then for the safety talk and it wasn`t too bad there. That was a long time ago and I haven`t been back because of convenience.
Wear your red reps like a badge of honor! They mean as much as Obama saying he`s going to balance the budget, create jobs and cut taxes.

PS Welcome to the forums.

The neg rep was for calling me a troll repeatedly, not for any disagreement.

I do hope you stick around, and I hope you read up on other threads about SSunset, and I hope if you do stick around we get past this..

Thanks for the welcome Exbiker. I think Sunset Hill wasn't a bad place but after everything I heard I will only enter the place if it's sparsely populated, firearms are too deadly to take any kind of risk. Again thanks for the welcome I appreciate it.

Wonderful, I am glad we could work this out.

Since you removed the negative rep I apologize for the calling you a troll and everything else I said. As soon as I post this I will erase all the negative comments I made. Since I am new to this hobby and the area I will take everything I heard here seriously. My rifle had some extractor problems and had to be sent back to S&W. It will probably be a month until I am shooting again, I will use this time to find a safer area to shoot. Hopefully I will find one. Thanks.
