Thumbs up Ready Aim Fire, Bristol

I want to give a thumbs up RAF in Bristol.
Me and my brother went last night so he could try out a few pistols and I could try to tighten up my grouping.
My brother lives in Jersey(Jersey Sucks!!) and is waiting for his paperwork to come back so he can purchase a pistol.
The staff was friendly and let him try out a few different pistols for $10.
They also gave us few papers to try each one out.
Overall it was a good experience and my brother left there much more informed and prepared to make his first purchase.

And for the curious I'll break down what we shot and how they ranked.
They were all .40cal's
1. Sig Sauer 220 , Man I want one, I don't think I couldve shot better if it had laser sights.

2. Smith&Wesson M&P Full size, Almost as nice a the Sig, made me look alot better than I am

3. Smith&Walther SW99 . This is mine, its nice but I have to work a little harder than the above to get any kind of decent grouping.

4. Springfield XD. I guess I expected more out of the XD due to all the hype.
Don't get me wrong it was nice and fairly accurate. The SW99 was just a hair smoother and had a better feel in my hand. I did have 2 failure to feeds but I'm sure that had more to do with it being a rental and probably in need of a good cleaning.

Actually I just make this a Range report.

I'm sure the Palmyra Sportsman Assoc has a nice range, I've never been there, the problem is that they are a bit of a hike from Lower Bucks County and a bit further then Jersey.

I've moved from Bucks a couple of years ago but I do miss the guys at RAF. They have always been very helpful.

I have never had a bad experiance here. A great bunch of guys behind the counter. They always seem to have time and patience to answer peoples questions. I have never seen them lose their cool or be rude to anyone, with the exception of one guy that came in and was on the range trying to sell ammo out of his "range bag."
I just renewed my membership for another year. In fact I think I will make a trip there tomorrow morning.

I understand the distance problem. It would be the same for me. I was only talking about my area of central PA. I have been told by many people that travel to different ranges that Eastern PA. has several great ranges. I visited many of the local clubs in Lebanon County and didn't find any with the variety, or well maintained ranges. Also, i found many only had memberships available at certain times of the year. I had a new Beretta and didn't want to wait. Another thing i found was that many of the clubs had bars. I was not interested in that part, just the shooting. Happy shooting to you all if you find yourself in centrall PA. give a shout and i will take you to the assoc.

You poor guys.... Did they not let you know you could rent an MP5 for I think $25.00?

I went there once and had a very good experience. The only prob, and not that it was anything wrong with them, was that I went in really only hoping to shoot my ar and ak. Sadly I was not allowed to shoot either, but oh well. Still a good place none the less..

Actually it is $40 and with the price of ammo these days......
I do want to rent one, but I'll wait to save up the funds first.
I figure it'll be a $100 day when all is said and done.
