In this economy I shop wherever my dollar can stretch the farthest. In alot of cases its a store like Wal-Mart that gets my business. I am not loyal to any store, much less some over priced mom and pop place with some pompous A$$ behind the counter, ready to eyeball me like a wanton criminal from the first foot in the door.

There is a reason most mom and pop places go under, and its usually not based on competing with a lower priced outfit. More often than not, mom and pop go down because their service and selection is horrible. Why should I patronize a place like that?

I enjoy Targetmaster often. Although I do agree sometimes when it is busy or during a busy period of the day, they do not have enough people to help and it can be tiresome waiting to buy a box of ammo or a paper target.

I had a very good experience at Targetmaster yesterday. I showed up at around 10:30 am. The range was busy, I got a lane in the smaller section to the rear, which I prefer because it is quieter. When I was done with my shooting I browsed the shop and was approached twice asking if I needed any help. One of the guys who asked if I needed help is usually kind of an ass when I go there, so it was a pleasant surprise.

Bullshit! I've shot about 8000 rounds of Winchester value pack 9mm and never ever had a jam or misfire because of the ammo. I did pull the trigger on federal twice and nothing. Winchester white box is fine quality for target loads

Did you use a rental gun?

And also, I have seen people buy that ammo, dump it into a plastic bag and take it in there. It's pretty simple to workaround it.

If explaining stoppages in a rental gun was the issue, that could be rectified with a big sign or a waiver. It's a money issue, which is fine since business should try to make money...but pretending it's something it's not (a stand against poor-quality ammunition) is dishonest and absolute bullshit. There's no need for it.

They have never allowed any outside ammo through their rentals, so it's not relevant.

A bag of loose ammo with all winchester headstamps would probably not get allowed in, FYI.

It's not the issue... it always has been about politics, and the owner being "anti walmart".
