Default [Philadelphia] South Philadelphia Archery & Gun

This is actually the range where I took my first gun safety class. 3 years, 8 guns, and more money than I want to think about later I still use them as my primary shooting range. All the guys that work there are knowledgable and helpful.

As for the range itself, it's by far the cleanest and most modern in the city. The lanes are all electronic and it's carpetted. As long as you are a competent and safe shooter they'll let you do pretty much whatever you want as long as you can do it safely (rapid firing, automatic weapons, etc). They'll let you shoot any rifle caliber up to but not including .50BMG which is where they draw the line (they are the only range in the city that lets you shoot rifle ammunition that I know of.) They jokingly state "If you can get it up the stairs, you can shoot it."

I've found their prices to be reasonable and have not been able to find better deals on guns online once I took into account the cost of shipping and their transfer fee and the risk associated with such a deal.

They currently offer classes for NRA Gun Safety, Florida CCW, Act 235, and I believe they will soon be able to give NRA Certifications as one of the owners is getting his certification to do that.

They are located at 831 Elsworth St. near Geno's & Pat's Steaks.

Don't quote me as fact on this but if my memory serves is as follows:

Non-Members:
$15 to shoot if you buy their ammo, $25 to shoot if you want to bring your own, $15 to rent a handgun, $25 to rent a rifle.

Members $150:
Free to shoot, $10 to rent a handgun, $20(?) to rent a rifle, have to buy their ammo but if you're a frequent visitor they will often let you bring a few boxes of your own ammo.

VIP Members $300 (This is what I am):
Free to shoot, free to rent a handgun, free to rent a rifle, bring as much ammo as you can carry.

Their targets are either $1 or $1.50 depending on size and they have an awesome variety but you're welcome to bring your own.

But! They have an upcoming yearly promotion in april called "Glock Day" where both types of memberships are reduced to $79 and $250 respectively.
