Default Looking for range on NY/ PA border near Port Jervis

I and a couple of buddies are looking to go target shooting the week between Christmas and New Years. Where are the good, preferably outdoor, rifle ranges on the NY/ PA border near Port Jervis. Any info, websites, phone numbers would be appreciated.

Thanks MollyMayhem. Is that a range you're familiar with? I do have the required permit for the PA public ranges. Are there target holders etc, do I just need to bring targets or is there anything else I need to bring? Thanks again.

No, I've never been there. I hear it's a disaaster though. My boyfriend used to work in Milford, and he went there once. It's a typical SGL range. You have to bring your own paper targets. They have a backboard setup, but they're in shambles.

depends on how recently some asshole witha shotgun has been out there. the 100 yard range is usually fine. Free of idiots and crazies. If you venture over to the 50 and pistol range its a whole new ball game. 50 backstop wise is usually half way decent. pistol is almost always destroyed. id bring a hammer and my own backstop and sink it in where the backstops are supposed to be. Make sure you have your permit on you they will check you.

And keep your head on a swivel. my last adventure there I was on the pistol range and some guy was on the 50. I finished up my string and wanted to go down range to check my target so I look at the guy and point down range(he had the big over the ear hearing protection on) he looks up at me and I could have sworn he nodded so i head down range. next thing I know he's yelling about letting him know if Im going down range. At least he wasnt popping rounds off while I was down range.
