What's the chance of YOU being in a mass shooting? Practically nil.
So what's the chance of you being in a mass shooting AND being shot by mistake? About the same as the chance of being hit by a chunk of blue ice falling from the sky from an airliner.
Thanks, but I'd rather win a lottery :)))

And the last thing you want to have in your hands when the real police show up is something black or something shiny.
Besides, even our State Police don't wear badges.
They are issued badges, but they keep them in their wallets. Even if I was involved in an off duty shooting and I had my off duty wallet badge out, the arriving LEOs would still put me on the ground at gun point and cuff me. Most likely my badge wouldn't come out until they have me in custody and search me. The cuffs wouldn't come off until they call up my agency to confirm my identity and employment status. "Fake" police badges are easy to make. Some LEOs even lose badges or have them stolen. Unless I've worked with the off duty LEO involved in a shooting, I'm not going to assume you're a LEO until your agency says you are a LEO. Going back to a CCW badge, it's kind of stupid to have.
