Selling or trading in guns that were gifts
I have several handguns my old man gifted to me years ago. Thinking of offloading one or 2 I don’t like. How does that work for doing a transfer to a gunshop? Obviously the guns in my dads name on the state police forms For when they were purchased. . I don’t talk to him anymore so I’m not gonna ask him to go with me to transfer.
Thanks

No PSP-RoS transfer needed for father to son. Sell or trade them as you wish.

I second that that you should cover that base as well, otherwise you can just transfer it through an FFL to whoever wants to buy it.

Hey guys that’s a legit question. No falling out. I do kinda talk to him. I’m 44 years old. I just don’t agree with some of his nonsense. So I avoid him and maybe talk to him once every 2 months. He would never ask for the guns back or report them stolen. So it’s all legit

So what are you selling?
Re: Selling or trading in guns that were gifts
I have a Kimber .45 crimson. It’s full length barrel 2 tone and a original Smith and Wesson 44 model 29 with 8”barrel. That was bought back in 80’s
Neither have hardly any rounds through them
Re: Selling or trading in guns that were gifts
YES, if you want to get your best money, try selling in the classifieds here, as a gun shop will only give you a fraction of what they are worth. Some of us are cheap SOBs, but will still pay more than almost all shops, and depending on what you have, quite a bit more.
Think of going to Kelly Blue Book for cars and comparing trade in value (gun shop) versus private seller (classifieds).

Ok thank you. I will get some pictures tomorrow and put them in classifieds. And update this thread

To follow proper protocol you should place your ad under classifieds. People can't respond to your ads publicly and make all kinds of comments on your wares there, they can PM you for info.
