All this "research" supports... common sense self-preservation actions.
I understand your point, although not all companies have a world class Physical Security Department already on staff, like mine. ;)
Good companies have a duty to care for their employees. And many hire outside security consulting firms who are experts in the field to conduct the training, when they don’t have the internal security resources on staff.

Avoid. Deny. Defend.
It's put together by Texas State University.
The Walmart version isn't online, but this one is almost the same, just different set and actors.
I like the part where they say that you have the "legal right" to defend yourself - then show a guy bash in the attacker's head with a fire extinguisher. LOL
Spray him/her/them in the face first then bash them in the head with the fire extinguisher. A fire extinguisher is a great tool for clouding the vision of an attacker. I took one in the back of my pick up to NJ after the hurricane to defend myself and my friend while we cleaned up the mess that was her house.

From the intel articles that I have read, preplanning, reconnaissance and dry runs by the shooters is rather common. I have no doubt some are sitting through the company training.

My former workplaces ''plan'' was to gather by department in a room , pack as many in as possible , and lock the glass door. :rolleyes:
Two good questions to ask are;
1. Aren't most workplace shooters disgruntled employees?
2. Won't they know our ''plan''?

That is why it's important for all companies to keep their employees properly gruntled.

...and the really smart bad actors pull the fire alarm and just wait for the sheeple to come to them out of the exits.
