I agree, but they wouldn't need to. A regular 5.56/.223 is perfectly legal for large game in PA.

i might be new to hunting, but i still feel .223 is small for people, much less deer.
i didn't know a bolt .223 was legal for big game in pa, i know that caliber is allowed in other states.
if it works, it works. if its clean, less traveling to do.
if i manage to get out this year, it'll be with the 12ga.
Anything larger than a .22. which makes .223 .003 larger ;)
I agree personally. I know a guy who has only not put a deer down 1 year in the last 15 with a .223, and last year he didn't. When he told me the deer ran I said "If you'd have been using a .357 mag or a .308, You'd be offering me venison right now. Instead, I am without it.
