2-Gun Steel Challenge (July 13th) in SW PA

Washington County Tactical Range in West Alexander, PA is hosting a 2-Gun Steel Tournament on July 13th starting at 11:00 am. Shooters do not need to be members of our range.

$25 Entry Fee limited to 40 shooters.

First prize is 25% of entry fees collected plus free use of any non-belted machine gun for the day with your ammo.

Second prize is 10% with free use of an M16 machine gun for a day with your ammo.

Third prize is 5% of entry fees collected with free use of an M16 machine gun for a day with your ammo. Lanes:

1st Lane: Shooter starts with a slung rifle with bolt forwarded with no magazine and a holstered handgun that has no chambered round with 2 rounds in the inserted magazine. At the tone, the shooter draws, chambers round, and shoots 10 targets at 20’, 30’, and 40’ reloading as necessary. The shooter will then hostler handgun and transition to the rifle, and then move to 2nd shooting spot, loads rifle from the magazine with 2-rounds located at 2nd shooting area, and shoots 10 targets at from 50 to 100 yards reloading as necessary.

2nd Lane: Shooter starts with a slung rifle with bolt forwarded with no magazine and a holstered handgun that has no chambered round with 2 rounds in the inserted magazine. At the tone, the shooter draws, chambers round, and shoots 10 targets at 50’, 60’, and 70’ reloading as necessary. The shooter will then hostler handgun and transition to the rifle, and then move to 2nd shooting spot, loads rifle from the magazine with 2-rounds located at 2nd shooting area, and shoots 10 targets at 100 to 200 yards reloading as necessary.

3rd Lane: To be announced at the event.

All targets will be 1’ metal plates.

Shooter Equipment:

Shooters will use their own firearms. Accepted handgun calibers are 9mm, 357 Sig, 40S&W, 45ACP, 10mm. Rifle Specs: any semi-auto rifle with removable magazine chambered in 556/223. No specs on sling or sights. Optics are allowed.

Rules for Event:

• All shooters must be 16+ years old. Absolutely no one under 16 is permitted on premises.

• Eye and ear protection must be worn by EVERYONE at all times.

Tentative schedule for shoot:

• Range opens at 8:00 am. 100' pistol range will be available for practice and meet & greet follow shooters until 10:00am.

• Registration is from 9:00am to 10:30am.

• Safety briefing is at 10:45am.

• First shooter on the line at 11:00am. There will be little time allocated between shooters, so next shooter after active shooter needs to be "On Deck" and ready to roll.
