Re: Freedom Munitions files for Bankruptcy
I bought a case of 9mm from them back at the onset of the 2012 panic.
Packed it in a 40mm ammo can and haven't touched it since.
More recently I simply haven't had the money to buy ammo online - then I saw this...

Seriously? They resorted to using a "naughty word" to sell shit? How juvenile can you get?
I can just imagine the "board meeting" when they came up with THAT one...
Dudes! We can take an ammo can and paint FUCK on the side - but we'll spell it different - and then we'll pretend that the letters stand for something! It will be SO FUCKING AWESOME! Everyone is gonna want this!!!
C'mon guys! We need to think of some words that spell out "FUK"...
They lost me after that. I couldn't take them seriously and I'm clearly not their target audience.
I hate to see any business fail (well, except for Dick's and friends), but whatever - if they are still here next year, good for them - if not, I won't even notice.
Re: Freedom Munitions files for Bankruptcy
I forgot all about the FUK kits.

Wow, I'm with you. I never saw these until now.
Re: Freedom Munitions files for Bankruptcy
I was a purchaser of the Xtreme Bullets before they even had a decent website and before Freedom existed. They made some good stuff a few years ago. Several of my competition friends still use their components. As for Freedom, I've bought a few thousand rounds from them over the years. Mostly for testing when "factory" ammo is preferred. And when they had sales just to have a stockpile that I don't have to make myself. It's always tough to see a firearms company struggling. But they need to figure out the problem and correct it. At one point Freedom was good quality and great priced... They need to get back to that. I think they grew a little too fast.

NO!
My go-to place for range ammo. I usually buy in batches of 500 rounds. Can't beat their prices and I never had a problem with their ammo. Of course, I haven't bought anything this calendar year from them.
Hopefully there's time to stock up.
Re: Freedom Munitions files for Bankruptcy
I just checked .380 ACP but they're "sold out" of all of their reman ammo in that caliber.
Re: Freedom Munitions files for Bankruptcy
Well it's chapter 11, so they should still be around.

The so-called 'ammo shortage' and high prices , driven by the hoarders , gave birth to a bunch of small upstart ammo companies. Now that prices came back to reality , and the big boys like Federal/CCI/Speer added capacity , a lot of them are going under.
