One of my favorite courses to teach. Essential information for anyone who owns property, homesteads, cuts shooting lanes for hunting or manages a woodlot.

Sandcut Outdoors is offering a Basic Chainsaw Skills class for homeowners and other non-professionals. Whether you’re considering buying your first chainsaw or whether you use a saw occasionally, but were never fully comfortable using it, this class is designed for you. This demonstrational program will introduce new chainsaw users to the basics of using a chainsaw including operation, safety, and some basic first aid. This class will demonstrate how to read compression and tension in wood, as well as how to understand kickback and pinching and how these forces work on your chainsaw.
Not suitable for children under 14. Part of this class will be outdoors. Please dress for the weather. Hearing protection is recommended.
$20 per person.
The class will be offered on Saturday, October 12, 2019 and will run from 9 am to 2 pm at the Hauser Nature Center, 1567 Long Pond Rd., Long Pond, PA.

Looks like he should be cutting that from underneath, going to pinch the chain.

Is there a section of the class on setting ladders against branches for maximum humorous effect? A subsection of that would be proper camera placement for the youtube video.

We do cover that. Just not in the Benny Hill manner to which you refer. There is a video I show of a guy on a 20'+ ladder dropping a branch that twangs him right off the ladder. Search chainsaw fails and you'll find it.
This is why spending 15-20 minutes on reactive forces isn't a bad thing.

Well worth the $ 20 ! The life and limb you save will be worth it !

What a great concept for a class and at a great price. That's what I love about a free economy, guy/gal comes up with an idea and moves with it.
