Need proof? Know of an old tree stump? Step back a couple paces and let her rip.
I don't think any home invader, hopped up or not, would not be stopped or retreat.
#4 Buck? Vietnam yes. Bedroom, not necessary.

At close range, a #8 trap load will kill you just as dead.
Any shotgun load will stop a bad guy at home defense distances, but the ones that end with buck are a whole lot more effective. :)

Yep ! To the OP take one of those shells and fire it at a 2x6 at your typical across the room/ down your hallway distance say 6 or 7 steps =17-20 ft give or take and judge for yourself if mr bad guy would be able to deal with it .

I prefer something with more penetration so I would just use the #4 for Turkey. Below is a another gel test of #4 birdshot.
