Win 1300 choke tube question
I have been searching this forum and online stores looking for a choke that I can't locate or id. I have a Win 1300 that has a knurled end choke in it. I know very litte about makes of choke tubes, obviously. My question is where can I find knurled end choke tubes for this shotgun and is this the factory tube? I'm shooting skeet with this on Saturday (it's been a decade) and I'm looking for a looser tube but like the lack of wrench and looks of the hand tighten tube. Also, any downside over the wrench type?

Word to the wise, keep them greased up. The originals are just plain steel, and well, they rust.
If you're going to be changing from open to full all the time, going from trap to skeet, that helps, but keep the threads clean and well oiled or greased.
Like you said there is no tool to remove them, so then when they are stuck a pair of channel locks will be abusive to the knurl:)

The originals (At Least Mine did) , came with a little wrench of sorts. You can get one here. You will see the chokes have a little hole in them for you to insert the tip of this wrench.

Birchwood Casey makes a choke tube lube to protect the choke tubes from seizing in the barrel. The 1300 Winchester was most likely made by US Repeating Arms and any Winchoke will fit it. I had a Smith and Wesson (Howa) Super 1000 that used the same chokes. Midway and Brownell's both sell chokes for the 1300. Here's my USRA 1300 (retired goose killer). This thing is super accurate up to 50 yards with Remington 2 3/4 slugs and Modified choke tube. Do not fire slugs with full choke. It will eventually bulge your barrel.

Turlock chokes, I like the extended tubes because they are faster to change for sporting clays and the longer tube has a more gradual constriction which may give a slightly better pattern. For skeet, you probably want the skeet I tube and no. 9 shot. Extended tubes are notched on the end for a took, or you can use a quarter in a pinch. Keep the threads clean and lubed and you shouldn't have any stuck tubes.
