I refer to the standard disclaimer for all military hardware:
" Always remember your equipment was made by the lowest bidder".
Many armies have first rate soldiers and second rate equipment. Or the other way around. The two factors have little correlation.

They used some great Mauser rifles for a long time, and the company making this pistol made a good version of the PPK for their police use.
Turkey also makes some very nice ou shotguns.
