I have the NAA mini-mag which is similar to the Pug. I do like it for what it is. It real easy to carry but I do understand that .22 mag isn't the most ideal defense caliber. Plus it's small size can make it a challenge to shoot accurately. (The Pug should be a little better here with it's better sites and grip I would think.) But the NAA mini or Pug is certainly better than no gun at all.
Check out this guy's blog, there's some interesting reading on the NAA's:

I wouldn't say that a 22 mag is a good or decent self defense round. Its a better camp gun or cook pot hunter. 22 mag is fast and hot but too small for efficient stop on a man size target, not saying that it can't do it. Its just that there are many better choices. My 2 cent.
With all the little good mouse guns that are available in much better SD calibers and higher capacity these days, I really don't see the point of using one for a CCW.
This blog has great stories. There is something that bothers me. There is a story set in South Africa where a good guy with one of these used it to stop three armed robbers, shooting two of them. Thats great but he says the gun blew up on him on the last round. Am I reading it wrong. WTF is that all about? Some super hot loads?
It's better than nothing...
If used in place of a knife, it would do the job nicely.. Stick it in the bad guy's ear......
Im going to go ahead and say its worse than nothing, or more accurately its worse than having the ability to go H2H or employ a blade. Its a distraction at best, and while you taking a year to dig it out of some little hole you stuffed it in the lunatic who was just trying to kill you will be tearing your throat out.
Sorry if it wasn't clear in my post that the sarcasm was implied.
