Guthsville sponsor for an ex-member?

Hi,
I was a member at Guthsville from the late 80"s probably until about 2000-ish when my wife and I let our memberships lapse. I am looking at getting back in to shooting (and into shooting rifles and shotgun as well as the 45 ACP's I used to always shoot). Unfortunately I do not know anyone off the top of my head that is still a member at Guthsville to sponsor me. Those I went with back when I was a member are now either non-members or moved to other facilities (such as Alburtis and Ontelaunee). I e-mailed the membership secretary (Crystal) at Guthsville and she said she checked with others and they will not waive having a sponsor, even for a past member. Was wondering if anyone on here would want to consider sponsoring me for my application? A pm to me would be fine and I would be willing to talk with anyone so they are not "blindly" sponsoring someone.

If no one steps forward, join IDPA, shoot a match at Guthsville and meet several members that way. Maybe one of they would help you out.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't really looking to compete as much as having a place to go after work and just enjoy shooting, but may resort to that if needed. I try to keep shooting a fun hobby and worried I will get too competative... ;-)

I just joined recently.. Do what I did goto the monthly meeting 2nd Monday of each month starting at 7PM. Get there early and talk to some people.. fill out the membership application pay the fees and your on your way.

I had someone sponsor me that night.. was pretty painless.
