i read around an tones of ppl are like no you can't shoot lead projectiles out of a glock, WHY??
i have 2 friends the load hard cast lead for there glocks one 9mm one .45 and i plan to do the same.
i meen as long as you clean it good after shooting lead there should be no problems. please tell me if im wrong
Lead can foul up the polygonal rifling in the barrel. If your going to shoot lead, id get an aftermarket barrel.
Glock states in black and white to not shoot lead out of there guns. Do what you want.
Because lead is known in the "state" of california to cause neurological disorders and you need to think of the children...:D

apparently they say it is alright but you need to clean the barrel before shooting jacketed ammo.

I shot a steel plate practice session w/ a younger guy running a G19, and every single round he used was a lead handload. I watched him rip through about 300rds. while I was there.
We got to talking guns (I was shooting a P7M8, and he was interested, and he was a very good shot, so I was interested in pointers).
I asked him if he used an aftermarket barrel, and he said no, and also said that the "no lead in a Glock" is sheer "bullshit - a rumor." (his words)
I said "But in the manual.." and he said "yeah yeah, but you're gonna clean it afterward, right?"
BTW, he was an excellent shot, and was very quick on the mag changes. His ammo seemed to be well done also - So he seemed like he was not a newbie.
FWIW, when I owned a Glok, I only fired FMJ. But then again, I don't reload!

Based on what I've been seen and told, yes that would be accurate. Plenty of folks will disagree, based on the manual's warnings, but I've seen it with my own eyes done successfully and without ill effect.Quote:

The warnings in the manual are there for liability reasons, the company is covering their a$$ from lawsuits. It seems a lot of gun manufacturers is putting "it's unsafe to use reloads" in there manuals now, I bought a Daily 1911 just 2 years ago and it says that about reloads and lead in the manual.
