Positive LEO experience with CC
A lot of people post negative OC/CC encounters with LEOs, so here's a positive one. My assistant and I were recently pulled over by a statie on I-84 near Milford. As a former LEO myself, we gabbed for a minute or two, and I mentioned that i was CCing. the only thing the trooper did was ask me if I understood that I needed a LCTF to carry in the car, and I said that I sure did. End of story, great experience, he didn't even ask for my LTCF. To those serving LEOs on here, keep up the good work and stay safe.

Why did you mention that you were CC'ing?

I actually don't remember what we were talking about. I'm a former LEO myself, so I have a comfort level talking with LEOs that most people don't. We were just bullshitting when I mentioned it. PA does not require you to tell a LEO you are carrying; my point was that even when the LEO knows, the situation can be positive.

You are sure to get flamed on here if you mention the fact that you told on yourself. Even though I usually volunteer that info myself depending on the circumstances. As far as I am concerned, any encounter where no ones life, liberty or rights are compromised is a good encounter. And if you believe that it was positive, then it was.

Again, the point of my post is not HOW the trooper knew I had a gun on me, just that he DID and there was none of the bullshit that some people have to deal with, e.g., disarming, showing ID, harassment, etc... Some people on here demean every LEO, but there are many more good ones than bad ones, although some need education on OC/CC. This trooper knew the law.

So, you identified yourself as a former (retired?) LEO immediately?

Nope, never brought up my LEO background until I ran into the trooper later at my assistant's hearing (for his speeding ticket).
Re: Positive LEO experience with CC
A posative encounter with LEO reguarding the lawfull carry of a firearm?? NO WAY!
I predict this thread will never make 2 pages but rather die a fast death falling from the front page!
JMHO,
