That's a cock ring they throw in for the guys who carry Glocks. you know, their weewee's are much smaller than the ones we real men pack.
it goes over the spring to create a firmer spring good for use with steel case shells, etc
The O ring goes on your extractor, if you take your bolt apart (push the little pin) Turn it over and there is a little spring with the O ring, this is the part to be replaced. Look at the pic I attached.
I wouldn't worry about installing it.
The O ring typically is used as a band aid with S/A guns to boost the extraction deficiencies of the old blue insert/weaker 4 coil spring and is un necessary with that kit. The black insert and proper spring that comes with that kit is enough for normal operation across a broad range of usage for most gas systems. Many manufacturers of high quality and properly spec'd bolts no longer install them either ( the Colt bolt and BCM bolt I own came without the O ring installed and run great ) The O ring was originally designed for the Mk18 SBR and helped extraction with the gun during full auto and surpressed usage and still has a place in usage there or if you have the older blue insert etc. ( which you wont after getting that kit :) )
