Why I (you) haven't been shooting lately.
I'll say shooting to make it simple but in my case I'm also including all the activities that used to take up much of my time like stopping in any shop I passed or researching the latest gear or techniques.
If you too seem to be devoting less time to the hobby/addiction let's hear why.
My reason is that on March 23 I had surgery. Bilateral total hip replacement to be specific. My time is now spent in therapy or sitting on ice. My internet research is mostly looking for tips on getting back on my feet. This also got me away from shooting a few months prior to the procedure due to inability to walk without pain to hang targets etc.
I'm hoping my case is extreme but have noticed several shooting buddies just kind of disappearing from time to time. What situations/events cut into your trigger time or keep you away from the hobby from time to time?

All of the above, plus I get tired of waiting for a lane.
It's like the old joke about the restaurant: nobody goes there anymore because it's too crowded.

When you are referring to hanging targets, i take it, you are referring to outdoor ranges? I shoot at Wicens all the time. If you are in the mood to ever shoot outdoors, just PM me and i will gladly put up targets for you. their range is limited only to a hundred yards though.
Let me know.
I am mainly plagued by budgetary constraints. About to spend a pile on an LWRC lower and a BCM Recce upper so i have to hold off on my ammo purchase for a while. I do a lot of dryfire practice drills at the house though.
Re: Why I (you) haven't been shooting lately.
I honestly feel bad for you guys. Sucks to not be able to shoot for whatever reason.
Been lucky lately: shoot trap every Sunday and all summer my son and I went at least once more during the week for rifles or hand guns. Now he's back in school but we'll still go Sundays at least.
And with ammo prices falling it makes the trips a little less painful in the wallet.

No particular reason. I let my gun club membership expire due to a brain fart and don't want to spend another $260 to reapply.
It's close and my main range is further but allows steel.
So, for now, this is holding me back. I'm 36 bags into a total of 80 to complete these steps before archery comes in.
I'm hand mixing 80 lb bags.

When I do get our there, I do this.

Re: Why I (you) haven't been shooting lately.
I rarely have time for sleep anymore, let alone free time to shoot. It's been 5 years or so since I went shooting. (not counting a few shots at legal game and yard pests)
They keep cutting our unit rates at work, so now we have to turn in more work to make the same amount of $. Then with me by myself covering an area that 7 years ago we had 5+ engineers, and then assisting in 60 other exchanges from center of the state westward to the Ohio line, and the MD/WV line to the NY line. ....no time whatsoever.

Family. I still get out a few times a month but not a week
