This is a list of Second Amendment opponents in the Senate who voted against S.Amdt. 805 to S.Amdt. 799 to S. 601:

Not Voting Lautenberg (D-NJ)
It is worth noting that, with the exception of Kirk, who is a RINO, all these are Democratic Partei Members or caucus with the Partei. It is abundantly clear that the Partei has become the de-facto anti-gun political party in the United States. And of course virtually all of us are well aware of what we must do.Vote for someone not a Partei member or supporter, even if we have to hold our nose with both hands and get someone else to pull the lever.
What reason, aside from anti-gun politics, could Casey have had for voting against this measure? I don't see any other reason. Do you?
Re: what was Casey's motivation?
Besides the fact that Casey is anti-gun? Look at the letters after the names, appears he followed the party line.
Re: what was Casey's motivation?
He probably figures his cover is completely blown now, no reason to even pretend to be at least somewhat pro gun.
Re: what was Casey's motivation?
Anyone who was around when his father was the PA governor, it’s no surprise that he turned anti-gun. His father did the same thing as governor. His father was elected with an A rating from the NRA. He was expected to speak at the democratic convention for the Bush vs. Clinton election. However once the Democratic Party found out about his anti-abortion views, they refused to let him speak. It was rumored that because of this event, father Casey decided to push the anti-gun agenda, namely an assault weapons ban to make amends with the Democratic Party. He even went so far as to order to Pa State Police Commissioner to make numerous media presentations on the dangers of these weapons using fully automated weapons as props. His son Bob followed in his footsteps. Keep in mind he was one of the 46 senators that voted against the amendment to keep the UN Arms Trade Treaty from interfering with the second amendment. As far as I concerned he never was pro-gun.
Re: what was Casey's motivation?
At least 10 Dems voted for the Coburn amendment, so I don't know where you can get off saying they're the anti-gun party. It's good to have a gun rights faction in both parties so we don't wind up like blacks and pro-lifers who get taken for granted by their party.
Anyway, Casey wants to become a player on the national Dem scene, possibly run for president in 2016 or 2020. Can't do that as a gun control opponent.
Re: what was Casey's motivation?
That looks pretty bi-partisan to me.

You seemed confused. I hope this clears it up.

Oh drat! You mean they don't count votes before hand and maybe the leadership agrees to allow certain members from gun rights states to vote for a pro-gun piece once they know it's going the way they want? Besides go read the 2008 and 2012 Democrat party official platform, it sets the stage for all the things they want (this time) for gun-control measures including "closing the gun-show loophole" and a new assault weapons ban.
Re: what was Casey's motivation?
He is a Democrat... he doesnt NEED a reason... just like we dont NEED guns... anything he can do to appease his party is what he bends over and takes it is the way he is...
Re: what was Casey's motivation?
No reason. Casey is just an ass and his father was an ass. I live for the day we can get that family out of politics....
