Deer Processing Location Help
Okay, so I actually take on down this year and field dress it. So, with that reality (crossing my fingers), I need to get it processed. No, I can't butcher my own yet so that is not an option.
It's a nice 65 degree day like today so I got to get it there fast. Yes, pack the cavity with some ice while transporting, I get that.
However, I live in Berks county and where I hunt may or may not be in the DMA4, depends on where I hunt.
So, it's a weekday between 8 and 5 or so, I know I can go to Hostetter and be good to go. But, do they take deer from the DMA? Late day and Saturdays, no cold storage so I am screwed if I take one later in the day regardless. I know they are open Sat but limited hours.
Now, there is Martin's Custom Butchering, 405 Reidenbach Road, New Holland, they will take it from the DMA and they also have cold storage for after hours drop off but I am hunting Blue Marsh area generally so that is a long drive. However other than distance it checks all of the boxes.
So, what are my options for after hours drop off and will take deer from the DMA? There has to be some.

Just found this:
Stohlers Meat Markey
1643 Heidelberg Ave.
Schaefferstown, PA 17088
717-949-3411
Seems they take after hours drop offs as well in the cooler.
Re: Deer Processing Location Help
I can't help you with a place to go but...
Where the hell are the pictures?!?!?
Re: Deer Processing Location Help
Oh, nothing yet. That's why I am crossing my fingers. So, can you still help?
Re: Deer Processing Location Help
So the obvious thing to do is call and ask?
In addition try here and ask if they can help or know of anyone than can.

Hmm, I'll research further. Out of DMA as well. Maybe after hours dropoff?
