Hey folks, I'm a new resident in Bucks County (moved here from the People's Republic of NJ ;) )
Tried to apply for license to carry in at Doylestown Sheriff's office and was told, that I can only apply once I've been a resident of Bucks County for 6 months.
Is this accurate information? Has anyone had a similar experience?

I am not a Lawyer (IANAL) but my understanding of the law is once you are a resident!!! Like have a residence and a PA driver's licenseQuote:

EDIT: grrrr their website even says resident aliens (aka non-citizen) can apply after 90 days with a hunting license.. but tell a citizen resident to wait 6 months.. I feel MY blood pressure rising!
I am pretty sure that alone is against the law.. but their own website says you don't have to wait 6 months..

Again.. with a valid PA drivers license that has a valid PA address I would approach it with the statute in hand.
They are not allowed to go around just making shit up

After you have moved into a residence, it should not be hard to get a cable and electric bill after the first month? Sounds like that would suffice according the previous post.
Thanks for the info Parrisk. Just to clarify, I am a permanent resident (green card holder) not a citizen. But even the 90 days residency requirement they list for Permanent Residents is no longer in place. I'm thinking that maybe the officer helping me this morning didn't know what he was talking about or there is a Bucks County specific requirement (which would be unlawful IMO). In any case, think I will go back on Friday morning with the utility bills (which I had with me today) and my PA drivers license and Green Card as well as a copy of the state statute :)
The day i got my LTCF at Doylestown there was a person with a green card in front of me. His record wasn't coming up with his Green card, but the PA Driver License number worked and the completed the call to the state police and issued his card.
I spent a while extra 5 minutes in line waiting for his stuff to finish. I didn't hear any questions over how long they had their green card. IANAL that was 4 yeas ago in the old courthouse and a different sheriff....
I got mine in Doylestown with a temp PA drivers license that I got the same day at the DMV in Dublin and some sort of utility bill. That was probably 3 weeks or so into my new house.
Well, there's a new democrat sheriff in town.

Having a lawyer such as Joshua Prince send an official letter head over to the sheriff might make them move a little faster. He just won an injunction against my sheriff in Monroe County for breaking preemption laws
