Quick question on legality of "holding guns" for someone.
Theoretical, based on reality of course.
Handguns...If someone is getting a divorce, and he wants to 'hide' guns and gives them to a friend... Is that legal?
The two scenarios possible are he gave them to him, to keep, which of course would need a transfer with FFL right?
The other being, just handed friend guns to keep at another residence with intention of getting them back.. Which not sure if the friend would need ltcf, which i thought they would.
Finally, long arms.... As far as I know no laws broken if you want to just 'give' one to a friend.
Any clarification would be helpful. Thanks!

If a good lawyer is involved the guns in question might be treated as hidden property.
If both parties holds a ltcf the guns can be loaned,

If they were acquired after the marriage, they are then marital assets, even if only one of the partners ever used them. Holding them to hide them might well constitute aiding and abetting the commission of a fraud.

Only one party has to have an LTCF, and that's the person receiving the firearms. Now, when it comes time to return them if the owner doesn't have an LTCF is possibly a grey area.

Legal or not, in my opinion it’s a very bad idea for one to get involved in a hide the guns from a divorce settlement scheme. If someone I knew asked me to do this I would decline .

It's no different than hiding the Corvette in some buddy's garage.
IANAL.

Tell him to get a shovel and hide them himself.

As you may have assumed, the division of marital property can be a tricky and sometimes dirty process. Sometimes agreements can be made, assuming that usually each side has something to lose. Good legal representation is recommended.

I would imagine it has nothing to due with property value and more to do with some bogus PFA. It seems to be the new standard in PA to file a PFA as soon as you get divorced to screw your husband and set yourself up to get the kids. Once it is filed even if there is no proof, they take your guns just in case you are violent.

Divorce can be deadly ! Give the guns to a LGS you trust for hold even if you have to pay him a storing fee !
