SPRINGFIELD -- A city man who went on a 2012 hunting trip in the Blandford State Forest is suing firearms giant Glock Inc. plus ammunition manufacturers and retailers for $1 million after a pistol exploded in his hands and launched shrapnel into his face, according to a complaint in U.S. District Court.

I don't pay attention to Glocks but it seems like catastrophic failure happens a lot.
Must be the ammo.

Re: Glock is getting sued for exploding gun
Three thousand rounds thru my Glock 19 gen 3 not one issue and Glock 43 1,200 rounds no issues,I dont mess with reloads and stay away from Remington after my wife experienced a squib load in her 38 spl a few years ago and was alert enough to not fire another round !
Re: Glock is getting sued for exploding gun
A quick search shows lots of them. To be fair, any gun can be over pressurized to the point of catastrophic failure.
Re: Glock is getting sued for exploding gun
We had a personal gun blow up when I was running range for PSP. Gen 2 I think. Blew the mag to pieces and out the bottom, extractor broke away and multiple cracks in the plastic. He said it felt like hitting a concrete pillar with a ball bat.

There you go. BB is known for hot loads. I'm not saying overloaded, but maybe a bit much for a standard Glock with its unsupported chamber at 5:30 to 6:30 in the vicinity of the ramp.

Re: Glock is getting sued for exploding gun
I thought that Mass. was anti-everything including cork guns?
Can he legally hunt with a 10mm Glock in Mass.?
Re: Glock is getting sued for exploding gun
He should probably sue the company that made the vehicle which they drove to buy the gun and ammo while he is at it. Hes just looking for a payday.
Yeah Buffalo Bore is loaded hot, close or at max. BB may have overloaded the round. Or the genius could have repeatedly loaded the same round, caused bullet setback and a KB. Or maybe something was wrong the gun, like assembled wrong, worn parts, etc. Knowing what kind of people usually populate Mass I sure can't give the guy the benefit of the doubt.
Re: Glock is getting sued for exploding gun
It's a bullshit suit that's why he's suing everyone including cabela's, hopefully the judge see's past this.
Re: Glock is getting sued for exploding gun
The more people/companies the lawyers include in the suit the more fees they hope to collect.
