Tip on LEO Conversations While OC
Take a lesson from 'Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead', play the question game.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maI53H4Zbrs
Cop: Can I ask you some questions sir/ma'am?
You: What can I help you with officer?
Cop: I noticed youre wearing a firearm openly.
You: Is that a problem?
Cop: Well, its making people nervous.
You: Am I doing anything illegal?
Cop: Id like you to cover it up.
You: Am I being detained?
Cop: Id likeyou to cover it up, and I need to see some ID.
You: Why do you need to see my ID, have I done anything illegal?
Cop: I just need to see some ID.
You: Am I being detained, or may I go?
You can pretty much ignore the repetition rule from there on out. Its fun, give it a try next LEO encounter.

I am not a lawyer, but if you like being sodomized by whatever tubular object is available at the police station, following the above conversation sounds like a good plan.

So you think you will be arrested and sodomized for asserting your rights?

You are under no obligation to answer LEO Q's.

Obviously.
My comment was to bring to light the fact that your friendly neighborhood police officer becomes much less friendly when you take that approach to answering their questions.

Too bad for them.
If you do not open your mouth they will have nothing on you (unless they already do)., in which case they will get nothing *more* on you ;)

IF and thats a big IF they would do anything because you observe and stand up for your rights THEY would be in a similar predicament as the Lebanon County sheriff is in now :)

Seriously though..
I don't understand the controversy with this topic.
Police have a job to do. Catch criminals. Unfortunately, a few of them take it a bit far. As such, we have to default to protecting ourselves from the least common denominator. The best way to do that is to NOT answer any questions. IE: assert your 5th Amendment rights. You can not be legally harassed for that.
Although you might ;)
