I think this right here has a lot to do with it.

Who would have thought that your federally protected rights are not federally protected in America.

the legislators don't seem to care, i believe kamala harris and another anti-gun just joined the senate judiciary, bill will probably never leave the committee now.

She just needs to plead that half ignorance half no intent (wink wink) with a touch of negligence angle that hilary clinton has mastered.

Both right. They are natural rights that are (technically) federally protected.
The error comes when someone calls them federally granted rights...

Heck, I know NJ is horrible, I work there daily and after being home for Christmas break and used to carrying daily for 11 straight days, I walked out of the house with my gun in pocket.....got a mile down the road as headed to work and realized "crap, I still have my gun"!
It happens. What I don't understand are the people that are completely ignorant of states that have made it VERY clear that people will be thrown in jail if caught with a firearm. Back in the 90's I worked as a correctional officer in philadelphia. The prison was minutes away from NJ. The prisons would definitely put out to us to stay out of NJ everytime a new CO or cop got arrested over there and I cant tell ya how many times we'd be out after work and decide to go over to a club in NJ and would be there for awhile and then have that oh chit moment realizing we still had our edc on us and would go hide in our trunks. And back then (before computers and cell phones) we never even new about finer details such as hollow points being illegal, max limits of other states etc

Hell the hunter that flew from Alaska to Russia with a revolver got in less trouble then and mom who crossed the river from Philadelphia to NJ with her disclosed .380 in her purse

Think you may be mixing threads up, NJ isn't in a SOE.
Well, arguably it is, but, officially its utopia.
