Can a teacher with a CCW keep their firearm in their car in a school parking lot?
And if so, in what state of disassembly if any? (e.g. unloaded and locked in the trunk with the ammo and magazines in the glove compartment)

NO ! Cars get broken into everyday and to have one taken on a campus with bad intentions is ludicrous ! I will add to this I have never left a firearm in a vehicle unattended and do not recommend doing this !

No firearms on school property.
Off school property, properly secured, is another matter.
Unless you want to be a test case for other lawful purpose.

Not sure. There have been cases recently where carrying a gun on school grounds has not been prosecuted. Maybe it would fall under the other lawful reason part of the law..... Maybe. But most schools have rules against employees having weapons on school grounds and could be a reason to terminate a teacher.
The above is speculation, I teach but do not carry on school grounds because I want do not want to put my job at risk or become another test case for the other lawful reason clause.

I also think the other legal purpose could apply.
But is it a work condition?
But it is leagal to keep a gun in your car if you have a ltcf

I think people are mixing up employment issues with firearms issues.
As a teacher, working for the school district, if the school district states that firearms are prohibited on school property, then violation of such could, and most likely would, result in dismissal. No firearms legality involved.
As a nonemployee, I'd assume that recent court cases on such may have turned the Section 912 prohibition of firearms on school grounds (which may or may not be different from "school property" depending on the prosecutor and/or judge) into a nonissue, presuming the firearm is lawfully transported and no criminal intent is present.
Bottom line: Teacher, no. Not a teacher (or other employee), maybe.

Agitate for armed teachers against mass shootings.
I think its reasonable that teachers should not be expected to be unarmed bullet shields to protect children. Evil exists. Everywhere.
Until then, it's a good way to get into hot water and lose the job.

A little lock box bolted to the floor will help.
I treat my vehicle like my house, do not enter.

I agree and have a similar set up in my cars.
