Pecatonica River Flintlock Kits
Has anyone ever built a flintlock from the Pecatonica River kits? They look like quality rifles and barrels. I have never built a flintlock from a kit. Is it worth purchasing "The art of building the Pennsylvania longrifle" on their site or does anyone know of a website that gives good instructions (and pictures) of how to do this?
Thanks

Re: Pecatonica River Flintlock Kits
Welcome to the PAFOA! I am not familiar with their kits. I have been around a buddy who "builds his own" flinters. He is pretty advanced to the point of carving stocks and doing the inletting for the lock and bbl on his own. Depending on how the kit comes, the level of skill needed to complete it is varied. If what you need to do is blue or brown the steel and finish the wood, I say go for it. You have nothing to lose, and the best part is that if you REALLY mess it up, you can remove it and do it again. Good luck.
