Re: One of our own arrested - please sign the petition!
Going from one state to another should not be so fraught with problems, in America. It's almost like accidentally wandering into North Korea! I can understand if a NJ resident is found with guns, it's his state, his rules. But when we visit from another state, everyone should be accorded some "home rule" thing. Like, if it's legal in PA, and you are from PA, and you cross into NJ, you should be accorded the leniency of PA gun rules. Especially if you live within, IDK, say 40 miles of the "border".
If NJ wants to be dicks over this, then why do we allow them to visit PA and use our "public" ranges? If you ain't from PA, you shouldn't be using PA public ranges. Tit-for-tat. How do NJ residents get NJ banned guns into PA to use our ranges anyhow? Oh yeah, "Summer homes". :(

And what if a few million NJ residents petitioned PA Gov. Wolf to enact stricter laws here? Should he oblige?
Yes, he should, because we live in a democracy!

Unfortunately, some people actually believe this.
I know you're being sarcastic.

Some might, but I won't. The government has the overwhelming advantage in every case they bring. I'm completely ok with defendants - even legitimately guilty ones - using any "loophole" the can.
*For the record, I don't consider a guilty person going free because of an illegal arrest or search being a "loophole". Due process is supposed to afford protections for all, even at the expense of the guilty sometimes going free, as the alternative (innocents being punished) is far worse.

the cost of freedom is that we are not completely safe and our system doesn't catch all criminals.

Actually for the regular driver they are not that complex. For a CDL,’maybe. Using a turn signal is as simple as it gets. On another thread here, Poofers are posting videos of the many examples of simply poor driving.
Many years ago while watching the races in South Philadelphia a Highway Cop gave me a ticket for my license bulb being out. The bulb was out. $35 for a 37 cent bulb. It was a cat and mouse game dealing with the racers.

He should offer to donate the entire fund and however much money he can muster to the anti-gun cause of the DA’s choosing in exchange for dropping all charges.

I got pulled over for driving at 2 am. The cop actually stated that as the reason when I asked.
Given that I was driving on a license issued under an assumed name, in a rental car rented under an assumed name, with some contraband in the trunk, I am fortunate that I am a free man today.
