Your pictures might be too big. Try to resize them.

No post requirement. Most likely problem is too big. Most new phones take a multi-megapixel photo and the system will only allow less than one megabyte file size which is like two megapixels or thereabouts.
If you are taking pictures with a phone, you can edit in phone by cropping the edges to reduce the size, which has the added benefit of making the important part of the picture larger.
Alternatively if you are mailing the picture, many phones offer the option of sending a reduced size picture which may be all you need to do. Do try to avoid posting tiny pictures though, as these are next to worthless.

What exactly is the error message? That might help someone figure it out.
