I think the slide says 40 S$W
Re: Desert Eable Baby Eagle
Congrats!
The DEBE is based on the excellent CZ75, which itself has roots in the SIG 210.
Can't beat that pedigree.
I had a 9mm Springfield P9 Compact for a few years until I discovered the SIG P6.

Yeah, I know there have been a lot of different variations and names for these guns - I don't like the new ones at all. I have seen/heard "Desert Eagle", "Jericho 941" "Baby Eagle", "IWI", "IMI", etc., etc.. I like this one because it is engraved/marked only "Desert Eagle Pistol" and then " Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) - then importer "Magnum Research". And the grips are "IWI" which I think are the nicer looking grips. Little things, but it's the little things that make you like different models :)
Dang Israelis make some nice weapons, obviously know what they are doing - built as if their lives depended on it, because they do !
Re: Desert Eable Baby Eagle
I used to have one and it was super reliable. If you run out of ammo you can beat someone to death with it too which is a bonus. One question, how are the sights? Mine had a really small front sight and huge rear sights and shot at least 12 in high at 25 yrds. I even ordered new factory sights and they were the same. I guess you were supposed to hold in the 6 o'clock position, not sure.

Pretty basic sights - nothing fancy and nothing out of the ordinary. The results I posted at 25' rapid fire are great for me :)
