FNS 9 and .40 Compact Plus
Just saw this on The Truth about guns!

Pretty cool. Despite my username I ended up getting the FNS-9 for my first firearm. I'm not too good at shooting yet but I really enjoy using the gun at the range.
Anyway, thought I'd spread the news.

This is fantastic. An FNS9 compact will make a great addition to the family. I have an FNS9 long slide and love it.
Maybe this means people will start supporting the aftermarket needs?!

I shot an FNS-9 Longslide the other week. The take up in the trigger was gritty, but overall it was a nice gun and shot like I'd expect an FN to shoot. I want to see what they will be coming out in 45.
I dislike external safeties.
Re: FNS 9 and .40 Compact Plus
I've got an FNS-40 and love it. After a couple hundred rounds, the trigger smoothed out nicely. I'm going to check out the compact, but I agree, a .45 would be great.
Re: FNS 9 and .40 Compact Plus
Hey AnimalMother,
Was that gun new? Mine has smoothed out remarkably well after putting about 700 rounds through it.
My trigger was initially gritty though.
Re: FNS 9 and .40 Compact Plus
I put a hundred rounds through plus a whole lot of snap cap dry firing. The grit is mostly gone. This might be heresy but I like the FNS trigger better than the Glock 17s and 19s that I fired. Of course I have little 'first gun' bias. Got 100 Federal FMJ and 50 Federal JHP coming in the mail tomorrow from bulk ammo. I'm exited about the compact if it's as good as what I have. Price is good too.

Yes it was brand new, bought the day before, maybe had 50 rounds through it.
I heard that the trigger gets better with time.
Re: FNS 9 and .40 Compact Plus
I wonder if FNH will be producing a better stock trigger for this one/generation. Someone needs to make an aftermarket one otherwise
Re: FNS 9 and .40 Compact Plus
I'm sure someone will or you're probably able to clean it up like any other striker fired pistol.
Re: FNS 9 and .40 Compact Plus
I have a FNS-9, great shooter. Now I may have to look into the compact model but I will only buy one without a manual safety if they make it.
Here's my FNS-9.
