I like it.
The only thing that Ruger may have screwed up are the curb appeal of their semi-auto pistols.
But their Ruger .45 Old Army BP 45's are the best BP pistols ever (we've got a freezer full of bacon prizes as proof).
Their MK III pistols in .22 are the best for training any new (or old) shooters. Their MK IV pistols are best for training grandpa's how to clean and disassemble the MK III.
Their 6.5 Creedmoore and its trigger have spectacular "out of the box" accuracy (at least to the 740 yd distance we've run it). While it may loose a bit of accuracy closer in (compared to rifles that cost 3-5x as much), and their cheek rest feels primative compared to others, the ballistics down-range get my stamp of approval.
So, with this .338 Lapua offering, all you need is something like a 5x25 SB PM II which you can find these days at a few local auctions for less than $2K, a good set of rings, a spotter who knows what she's doing - and you're set to go take the rifle to a 1500 meter walk.
And since some of you probably own a single stage press, once you figure out what shoots best in your hardware, easy to reload too!
I like (untill i see the price they want)! Just wondering if the adjustable buttstock should be beefier though.
Lots of guys switching out the butt stocks on these in 308 and 6.5 thats preferably be the first thing to go. Should be real interesting. I seen ammo come down to $2.50 a round or so.
They.l be even cheaper second ha s when people realize that it recoils harder than hell
one of those guns once the cool factor wears off it's will spend the rest of it's life bouncing from used rack to used rack.
looks like this may have to find its way into my safe.
I just sold my Savage 112 Target Mag , and was getting ready to order a 110Ba, But I am holding off till I can get one of these Rugers.
