I was cleaning the gun I use mainly for carry (Glock 19), and I realized that I have had this particular gun for around 16 years now.
So, what is the oldest gun that you carry for protection? Is there such a thing as a gun that is "too old"?

I bought mine use about 6 years ago. I don't know how old it was when I bought it. If it still works it is not to old.
well i have a taurus that was made in 2001 but i dont carry it yet.... want to put a couple hundred more rounds through it before i trust it.... my sr9 which i carry is only like 2 years old....
i see it this way... if it goes bang when you need it and the bullet goes where your aiming it and you trust your life with it.... its good in my book...

I got my new Sig on Friday . . . . it already had 250 thru it that night
My old Carry was a Ruger P345, I had that over two years, before that a full size 1911 for 5-6 years I think
13 years for my USPc. Less than 1 year for my PM9.
You DON'T want us old guys to answer, cause we are going to start around WWII. But I'm gonna - - My Remington Rand 1911A1 is 1943. I don't carry it regularly, though.
