Need to move MIL, Suggestions wanted.
So my Father in law passed away last week,(Good Christian man). My in laws live in an old working class Philadelphia neighborhood that has long ago changed.
My MIL is a young 70 y/o but the fact remains that it just isn't safe where she is at and taking care of a 2 story house is too much.
I want to move her closer to us to maybe a 55+ Mobile home park or an apartment.
I want to sell her house and use that to buy the new one or put the money in a trust to pay the rent. The problem is the house is in Philly and not worth a whole lot, Zillow says $73,000.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Re: Need to move MIL, Suggestions wanted.
Most 55+ communities around here at a bit pricey & I don't know what part of Bucks you're in but there is a nice mobile home park on Rt 413 not too far north of Newtown though I have no idea what it costs to live there
Re: Need to move MIL, Suggestions wanted.
peen woodd isnt a 55 plus but it is smaller in a pretty good area .Also not very big yards so its low keep .takes me a couple of mins to cut mine .and lot rent is about 600 a month.

where in philly is the house? can you give me an intersection close by?

Where in Bucks are you? If you're in the Chalfont area, the Village at Neshaminy Falls might be an option. My in-laws took a close look at it and liked it a lot, but opted to remain in their twin in Northeast Philly for the time being.

I actually did a ride through Penn Wood. Some of the places seemed to be well kept while some seemed a little run down. What does the lot rent get you?

She wants to move. She has lived in the house for almost 50 years and would love to stay but she just don't feel safe there.

That actually looks nice for her. I don't if it is too far for her though she does have family in that area.

use the money to build an addition onto your house for her. a mother in law apartment with a bedroom, sitting room, bath, and kitchenette.
