Im thinking about buying this gun for turkey hunting(please tell me if you know anything about it). Do you think it would be okay for shooting trap?

I have the 870 sps supermag pistol grip turkey gun and it's awsome for turkeys but when i went quail hunting the pistol grip was a little harder to get the gun up and track birds. I then bought a regular butt stock and it was a night and day difference. So IMHO if you get the gun see if you can get a regular buttstock and 26" barrel. I'm wanting a good semi auto gun too but i'm already vested in two 870 pumps. One for turkey, one for HD. I'm thinking of just picking up a good used 11/87. I found one local for $475.
If you are going to be shooting trap with a thrower and some friends in some field, then you can use any shotgun. If you are going to be shooting real trap at a range with guys that have real trap guns, I'm going to say no in this case. First off you'll have a heck of a time trying to hit clays with a shotgun using those sights. Second, many fellow trap shooters won't want to stand to your right if you use a semi-auto without a device to catch your ejecting shell. You'll be severely handicapping yourself in trap with a shotgun like that.
If your going to buy another barrel and stock, why not just buy a used 870 expess or Wingmaster for shooting trap. If your just shooting trap for fun, it would work dandy. Cost you about the same price as a barrel and stock for the other gun.
forgot to say i also want to use it for pheasant hunting and waterfowl hunting, so take that into account..
thanks
