Gun Buyback Programs - let's make a deal!
So I saw this thread:

And now I think we need to do this.
Let's get something organized. Does anyone know when the next Philadelphia-area "buyback" program will take place? I want to organize a small group of us to go down and help prevent some of these pieces of history and family heritage from becoming a steaming pile of scrap metal and charred wood. I'll need help, though, so who is with me?
I will help to ensure that all activities we partake in as a group are recorded, both in audio and video formats. Let's plan to keep this a civil and 100% legal event.

Reserved for potential updates.

Again, reserved for potential updates.

For the life of me, I can't see ANY reason why the ANTIS wouldn't be fully supportive of this idea.
"If it gets just ONE gun off the streets, it was worthwhile". Where have we heard THAT one before?
Am I right?

Are you able to elaborate more on your idea of prevention?
Re: Gun Buyback Programs - let's make a deal!
Prevention of what? I don't know to what you are referring.

I am just asking you to elaborate on your ideas of preventing...

Look at it this way.
I have a pistol my grandpap brought back from "the war". I hear about this "buy back" to keep the streets safe. I go, give them a piece of history for a few bucks, and it gets turned into a street lamp.
Why on earth wouldn't we want to go, and potentially give these collectibles a good home?
Viper, I am all for it.
Re: Gun Buyback Programs - let's make a deal!
Elaborate. What are your plans?
"Talking them into going home"?
"Explaining that they are playing into the hands of the antis"?
"Offering the same deal"?
"Offering them $5 over what the antis are offering"?
"Offering a fair price"?
I think that's what he means...

Thank you EM! That is exactly what I was talking about. Just wanted to see where he was going with this.
