Thumbs up to Montco gun permit unit!
Got there around 11:00am. Usual circus getting thru metal detector , but not too bad. 1 person in process , had my form filled out beforehand and the renewal took about 15mins because computers were acting up. Deputy was very cordial and professional. Probably 8-10 people in line when I left.

I renewed mine in January and it was much better than when I applied for it the first time in Montgomery Co.

They're doing a fine job. Professional and per the law.

You would not think so if you were a nonresident. They do not issue to nonresidents. I think if my state FL refused to issue to PA residents you would not think they were professional and per the law. Well I feel that way about the Montco Sheriffs.

Emailed my renewal a couple of weeks ago. Went to pick it up today, took less than 10 minutes. Good job by Montco Sheriff's.

I am a naturalized citizen and emailed all my documents, naturalization certificate, DL and SSN together with the form. The lady in the office wanted to know country of birth, although I filled it down where non-citizens were supposed to complete. Provided all the information and received my LTCF. In my opinion, the process for citizens born abroad who have not been present in the US for more than 5 years should have not only PICS check but also interpol one, just like the TSA checks (twic, precert, etc). I have a twic card and such check was done on me, but it all had absolutely no bearing on my application.
People at the office were really helpful, very diligent and fast.
Good job, Montco guys!
