Ridgway gun show is cancelled.
A while ago I heard due to insurance costs this had been cancelled. TRUE.
I hear it may be back on though??? NO.
I have not been able to get a recent confirmation one way or another. DEFINITELY CANCELLED.

Re: Ridgeway gun show cancelled?
The show is indeed canceled. The short version of the tale is hassles over liability insurance.
That is all.
Re: Ridgeway gun show cancelled?
Yes, it is cancelled. The club treasurer reported in November that the club could not get event insurance.
Please pass the word.

Re: Ridgeway gun show cancelled?
That's too bad they can not have it over something like insurance.
They could always sell those hotdogs to raise funds.
I was there last year and not sure how they did it , but those were the best hotdogs I ever ate.
Considering the way some folks were shoveling them in their faces ..... I think I ain't the only one who thought so.
Last year it was the same weekend as Reyondsville which is also a small show , but with room.
Perhaps the vendors can double at the one.
But come to think of it , I am not sure when or even if Reyondsville is having one this year. They certainly had some left over room last time.
Perhaps Ridgeway will have it next year?
Re: Ridgeway gun show cancelled?
Reading could not get insurance seems to suggest that no insurance company would underwrite. That's not a matter of cost. It means could not get insurance.
I think what is needed is learning why insurance companies would not accept an application.

1) Could not get insurance from the historic vendor.
2) Insurance from optional sources was so expensive as to make the show unprofitable and not worth having.
3) Antigun forces holding positions of power in insurance companies have discovered economics as a way to put small shows out of business.
4) Small organizations lack the resources, personnel, facilities, desire, internal cooperation, (D-All of the above), etc., to persevere in the face of adversity.

Re: Ridgeway gun show cancelled?
Wonder if any of Eagle Arms shows are experiencing this ^^^. or will.
Re: Ridgeway gun show cancelled?
I am surprised this Ins. scam took this long !!
Re: Ridgeway gun show cancelled?
Why does Ridgway need a gun show? They have more Elks than people.
ps
Yes, I've been there.
Re: Ridgeway gun show cancelled?
I wonder if the Club could.....via setting up an LLC, have the LLC sponsor the show with no liability insurance? The LLC could\may protect the Club in the event of an accident.
Just thinking out loud.
