Anyone have one of these? If so...
Are they any good? And...
How hard is it to get extra mags?

I have had one for a long time now. I didn't by it from AIM but I did see they had them on sale. Its kind of like a clone of a 1911 in 9mm without the safety on the grips. Very accurate and fun to shoot. At least mine is.
Magazines shouldn't be very hard to find. I never tried but its a pretty common gun so I'm sure that you could find them without trouble. Google should turn up something. You may have to watch though. Be sure they fit because the Model B went through some changes over the years and not all types of Mags will fit properly.
Check www.ammoclip.com they should have a few.
Good Luck :-)
Here is a link to some Star history: click on Series “B”

And here is a link to what could be done with them when they were cheap and abundant:

I enjoy mine for plinking around, but would not depend on it for serious work. It is 50 plus years old now.
These guns look like 1911s. They have been used in the movies as 1911 “stand-ins”. But, they are not 1911s. Parts do not interchange.
Did I mention how much I enjoy mine!
The stars been around for a long time, quality piece much like the Bersa. They were priced reasonable, which might have given the impresion of not being good, (like Bersa), seems a common misconception in the gun world. I would try Numrich gun parts, look in thier index under make of gun and continue. they have schamatics and hard to find parts for alot of guns, they been around since the 50s and are a very reputable company, good luck, take care,Jack
