Being a software engineer, I laugh, when someone hints at Apple's mythical technological superiority :D

Marketing often trumps better technology. Beta was better technology than VHS, but VHS won the market. Apple has had the marketing edge, but has a habit of screwing up every so often. (see Lisa for one example, or how Apple chose to hold pricing on the Macintosh, when a couple hundred dollar reduction would have allowed them to grab market share. They chose margin over market share, and have always been a lesser player in computers).

A guy I recently met was telling me about his time in college where they did everything on Apple products. Then he got out in the real world and found out that business doesn't run on Apple products. If you want to update your Facebook status or watch cat videos, get an Apple, if you want to run a production facility they run on PC's.

The graphic design world runs on Mac - or at least it used to.
That's what I learned on and PCs seemed absurdly complicated to use when I first tried them.
My Mac has been broken for quite a few years now, so I plug away on a PC laptop. I miss my graphic design software.

Except all don't want to contribute.
