Re: Decent scope for 10/22 @ 100 yards, around $200?
For around $55 you can get a BSA Sweet 22. It's a significant step up from other budget optics, especially if the plan is to eventually move into long range rifle. It has BDC turret, finger adjustable windage, parallax adjustment, adjustable diopter, and plenty clear optics for .22 ranges.

I was able to get my son's rifle out to the shooting range this evening and zero the scope for him. I made a couple final adjustments after this group. I am very happy with the accuracy of the rifle/scope combo. I think he is going to like it. The below group is 10 shots of CCI standard velocity at 100 yards, 1.875". I also blasted a Clementine orange into oblivion from that distance.

Natchez is having a sale on Weaver classic scopes. With the sale price you'll be pressed to find a better deal.

Funny this thread should pop up, as I'm going to need a scope for my .22 suppressor host
Re: Decent scope for 10/22 @ 100 yards, around $200?
While I am not gonna knock the Leupold choice since they make good scopes.. I think its Overkill for a 10/22.
Personally I'd rather go buy another 10/22 and stick with a fairly reasonable optic.
I ended up putting a 3x9 Master Series Simmons scope on my 10/22 "beater" its pretty OP for a .22 and zero'd for 100yds.
I honestly think I paid less then $60 for it and I have had it for about 6 years now. It's survived steel shooting, lots of kids, and converted a few anti-gunners :).
Simmons scopes are "meh" and no way compare to a Leupold.. that is for sure. But if this scope has an issue Simmons replaces them.
