Afterwards would be perfect.
Traditionally, they have been showing up a little past 4pm and staying till about 5:30 or so. Its harder to tell for something of the size I expect them to pull this Friday though. I'll try to get ahold of Lucinda or Jeff tommorrow and ask them what time they started showing up last Good Friday at Shooter Shop. As for me, I plan on being there by sometime between 1 or 2 pm at the latest. My daughter is off from school for Easter Break at the end of the week so........ Its not like I need an excuse to jaw bone at the local shootin establishment before the festivities start. Besides, there was talk of us setting up food and tasty beverages and possibly even some "props" for our side, that stuff takes time.
It wouldn't be the first time the PPD has had an encounter with a state rep:
Rep. Jewell Williams sues cops, city over '09 incident
I concur for several reasons. Primarily OC at Delia's very well might cause a secondary issue that in the end could ecplise the intended issue. We don't need the distraction. Also, before the first appearance at Delia's I asked Fred about OC and he requested it not be done, for the same reason as above. Note I said requested, he also stated people can do as they wish, he just prefer that they didn't. Let's just fight one battle at a time.
With regards to a gathering, if someone has a Revolutionary War replica flintlock pistol they can OC I'm sure that would make a great photo op. The imagery associated with these weapons as tools against tyranny is well ingrained in people. If the worst happens, the unspoken message of a picture showing an officer confiscating that would really sum up the issue well.
Just make sure it's unloaded, you know the cops would have no clue how to handle it safely, and the possibility of a negligent discharge would be even higher than usual.
Why isnt it just as valid a reason to not do so because it would unduly distract from the reason we are there, it would give our opponents ammunition to use to paint us ( and the shop by proxy) in a negative light by the almost certain to be present media and would be enough of a polarizing act to force the generally nuetral Civil Affairs guys to go " by the book " instead of overlooking minor things the religious nuts complain about that works in our favor ?
They seem like equally valid reasons to me. Just sayin..........
You're really trying to argue that carrying while in the act of supporting a gun shop would distract from the reason we are there?
So OC has to be a negative thing now? That's a new one. The media, if they so choose, will paint us in a negative light for anything they want. If it's a PR war then it's on us to respond to it. Having spoken to my fair share of reporters over the last year I hardly see that being a "oh my god look at the evil gun owner" problem at all.Quote:

So rather than being worried about the media jumping on the illegal parking our side does to put up our message, you are worried about a perfectly legal act? That doesn't seem like backwards logic to you?Quote:

I respectfully disagree.Quote:
