Sportsman’s Warehouse coming to PA!
I might be behind the curve on this but I just found out that Sportsman’s Warehouse is opening 3 stores in Washington, Altoona, and Camp Hill. I’ve only looked into the Washington location and it’s looking like October 25 for their opening but it hasn’t been officially announced as far as I can find.
I don’t know if the rest of you yinzers shopped at the Mt Nebo location back in the day but it was a nice store from what I remember. It will be nice to have another outdoors store that isn’t owned by Dicks(literally and figuratively).

Cabela's and Bass Pro isn't owned by Dicks although its been discussed here before that they're not good places to buy guns as they price gouge on that, but from my experience they're good for buying ammo and other outdoors supplies. But if Sportsman's Warehouse is coming to PA that's terrific, can't wait to check it out. The camp hill location would be closest to me, Altoona is quite far and Washington is even further, past Pittsburgh. I would really like to see Academy Sports + Outdoors come to PA.

I used to shop at Sportsman's Warehoause when I lived in Denver. They actually had two stores wtihin an short drive from me, then when I lived in Lexington, KY, there was one very close to me. I always found the prices on guns, and other things like reloading supplies very competitive. You're not paying for all the fluff and overhead of Cabelas and Bass Pro. Pretty basic box stores, but that's exactly what I want. I don't know if they've changed because it's been about ten years since I shopped in one. Glad to see they're coming here.

This is good news. I went to the Rural King in Washington. It's in the old Gander building.
Their firearms and accessories section was pretty limited. Lots of other cool stuff to browse through.
It was sort of a Harbor Freight version of Tractor Supply.

Hopefully it doesn't close up soon after opening like Gander did. Don't think the one nearest me lasted a year.

In CO, there was a Gander right near the Sportsmen's Warehouse I use to frequent. I went into Gander ONCE. There was NO comparison, at least back then. Gander SUCKED.

Re: Sportsman’s Warehouse coming to PA!
Sportsman's Warehouse and Academy Sport + Outdoors should both expand and open locations in PA.
