With .45 you just have to point it at them - that big gaping circle of blackness aimed at their forehead says "stop what you're doing" in pretty much any language.

Shooting the Bull.com did an entire series dedicated to testing 9mm self defense ammunition adhering to all FBI testing protocols (yes we all know the gel does not simulate the human anonymity but it provides a consistent medium to compare) and out of a large amount of popular loads the HST was the most consistant with repeatable results in penetration and expansion.

I also happen to have several LE members in my family on the federal and state/local as well as a long time friend who run's another message fourm who has been in active gun fights as a LEO and I take his opinions based on experience to be very valid when it comes to SD and the latest and greatest in bullet performance.
WWW.SKSBOARDS.COM is the site he owns.
Do the HST use the new "green" primer? I hear the environmentally friendly ammo doesn't store well.

Not that I can remember, Unfortunately I do not have my side arm at my side due to being at work but I can check later and update. I only stock about 250 rounds of SD ammo at a time. If we truly had a real SHTF situation I have a large stock of 124 gr NATO sealed air tight.
Re: What is your self defense ammo?
I use Golden Sabres in my 9mm. I use Winchester silver tips in my .38 and FMJ in my .380. Once in a while I carry my single action .22 revolver for sd and I use thunderbolts in that for the most part.
